The Polar Express ride is in Palestine, TX which (from Victoria) is about 7 hours. To alleviate a 7 hour drive in the car with two young kids we made an entire weekend trip out of it. SUPER FUN!
We stayed in The Woodlands at a really nice suite. We spent Friday eating lunch at Kobe, shopping, eating dinner at Cheesecake Factory (dessert with Maria and Nadia), ice skating and Kate and Nadia watched Princess and the Frog. It was a very busy but so enjoyable day!
Vanessa read the kids a few stories on Friday night and off they went....waiting for the Polar Express ride the next day!
For those that have seen The Polar Express movie, this experience is very similar....except the train is very old so it doesn't go as fast as the movie (thank God b/c that was one thing Kate was asking about...'Is it going to go up high?') But it was a very cold night, we got served hot chocolate by dancing chefs and went to the North Pole, got our ticket stamped by the conductor and was visited by Santa Claus (Wesley said 'stay away' Santa Claus!'
After the Polar Express, we headed back to The Woodlands, dropped Ashton off and headed back to the hotel. We got up early, enjoyed hot breakfast downstairs, and made our way back to Victoria. Time to get some rest...Kate's Christmas musical at school was the next night and she had been rehearsing her song for weeks!
