Birthdays, Birthdays, Birthdays!!

So we started April off with a bang! Kate and Wesley had two birthday parties this weekend! Our first party was for precious Miss Maya who turned the BIG ONE! Her official birthday is the day before Justin's, April 7th. She had a great party on a beautiful day. Kate and Wesley loved her dog Jaxon. The fajitas were great and I got Maria's borracho bean recipe b/c Justin loves borracho beans!. Maya's family came in from San Antonio and Dallas to share the day with her. We were so happy to be a part of her 1st birthday!

Then after Maya's excitement we celebrated Christian's 4th birthday. Christian is super duper tall and could have fooled people into thinking he was turning 5 or 6 b/c he is so tall. He had a big bouncy contraption and also this awesome water slide. Christian's mom is Russian and they have a huge network of European friends and family in Conroe, so it was quite the party. Evidently, Europeans LOVE to party and they party all night. We intended on staying for 2 hours and were there for 4. Wesley was about to fall asleep in my arms and that was the only reason we left. Great hamburgers and fruit and some snazzy cosmopolitans that I am going to have to try at home one day. Of all the great food they had Wesley was enamored with the pickles. Yes, the little man ate ALL of the pickles they had out. They played pin the tale on the donkey. Kate came very close to pinning the tail on the donkey in the 'wrong' place (if you get my drift). Luckily at the very end she went up a few inches and ended up pinning it on his back! Whew..thank goodness!

Sunday we spent a lot of the day blowing bubbles that we got from the birthday parties. Maya gave us some really cool bubbles that you can hold. I bet if I went outside right now there would still be bubbles in the grass....they are very cool bubbles!

And finally to finish up the weekend, another funny picture of my Wesley. Since Wesley is potty training, he goes through the same ritual at potty time as Kate. Get the donut, sit on potty, go potty, keep going potty, get toilet paper, wipe boy part, get off, put on pull up, pull up shorts, flush potty (at least 2 times), get stool, stand at sink, mommy turns on water, Wesley gets soap, makes bubbles with hands, rinses hands, wipes on towel....and then goes into drawer and gets Kate's red Ariel chap stick and proceeds to go NUTS with the chap stick. Seems no matter how hard I try to say 'stay on the LIPS', it still ends up on the entire FACE...but definitely a cute photo op.

And please keep us in your thoughts and prayers....tomorrow morning Kate and Wesley visit their new school to see their new teacher and friends. They will be starting April 13th! We want this to be a smooth transition for them. Closer to home and more time with mommy and daddy!
